PM2.5と花粉がいっしょになるとどうなるのか？

まず、PM2.5や黄砂は、それ自体はアレルゲン（抗原）ではないのですが、補助因子となって花粉アレルギー反応を強める働きをします。また、花粉は、雨などで濡れたり、湿度が高くなったりすると、花粉が割れて花粉表面と内部からアレルギー原因物質が放出されるそうなのですが、雨にPM2.5や黄砂が加わることで、花粉の表面に傷が入ってより割れやすくなり、大量のアレルギー原因物質が放出されることになります。その後晴れてに乾燥すると、その花粉のアレルゲン物質は、元の花粉の大きさの30分の1となって浮遊し、花粉症の症状を強める原因となります。
